Harnessing the Power of Electronic Tracking Technology...

To ensure complete reporting of broadcast results for your VNR, PSA, commercial or SMT, NBN subscribes to SIGMA, a Nielsen Media Research encoding system that electronically tracks airplays of video distributed to television stations. SIGMA uses proprietary video encoding and monitoring equipment to monitor station signals and detect video airings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This technology, which has a capture rate of more than 95%, allows NBN to provide its clients with detailed audience data that includes market name and rank, station, date, exact time and duration of every airing, as well as the estimated audience viewing the video.

SIGMA tracks commercial stations and broadcast networks in all 210 U.S. markets as well as more than 40 national cable networks.

To further strengthen broadcast monitoring for clients, NBN also subscribes to two closed-caption monitoring services. By supplying key words and phrases to search for airings of your video, these services allow NBN to offer clients detailed reporting beginning within hours of distribution for broadcast.

Together, these closed-caption monitoring services cover all networks and cable news stations and more than 200 local markets nationwide.

...With 24/7 Reporting

Due in part to the rapid pace of change in television programming, not even the most advanced monitoring services can provide a broadcast report that is 100% accurate.

Not content to rely on professional monitoring services alone, NBN's reporting professionals continuously conduct their own research to maintain the high integrity of their data. Often, this is achieved through direct contact with media personnel who receive your broadcast material, whether by hard copy, satellite interview or digital feed. Together with NBN media relations specialists, who provide updated contact information for individual stations, cable outlets and syndicated shows, the reporting staff painstakingly builds rapport and professional relationships with broadcast industry professionals, a critical distinguishing advantage that sets NBN apart from its competitors.

NBN recently completed its conversion to a proprietary online reporting system that clients can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reports can also be provided by e-mail, fax or express mail delivery.

NBN's reporting schedule includes daily 'flash' reports that begin within the first 24 hours of your video feed and continue for a full week. Online daily updates then continue for another six weeks. All clients receive a final report that includes broadcast and audience details plus a video storyboard, usage breakdown, notification summary, copies of the fax alerts and demographic profiling by market. Of course, reports can be customized to meet your specific needs.
